What to Include in a Pillow Product Brief
Start with the intended use of the pillow and the range it will belong to. Include reference dimensions and any requirements for shape, fabric or cover construction.
List the information needed on labels and packaging. Include your preferred quantities and delivery requirements so these can be discussed with the production team.
Keep the brief updated as samples are reviewed. A shared specification helps the brand and manufacturer work from the same information.
Use a structured checklist: product reference; target customer and destination market; reference dimensions; foam requirements; cover material and construction; label information; packaging format; order quantity; and delivery destination.
Separate essential requirements from preferences. If a dimension, fabric or packing format can change, state the acceptable alternatives so the manufacturer can review options without changing the purpose of the product.
Record each sample revision and approval in the same document. Ask for confirmation of the final specification, order quantity and production schedule. For products intended for children or a specialized use, include the applicable safety and documentation requirements and seek qualified advice where needed.
